Design magazines and home decorating catalogs tend to feature sprawling backyards with big wood decks and room for everything from decorative fountains to artificial ponds. But few of us have that much outdoor space. Still, with a few strategic choices, you can create something truly special out of even the smallest yard or porch, says Los Angeles-based designer Brian Patrick Flynn. Cass County Sheriff Tom Burch reports that the Cass County Sheriff's Office responded to two separate incidents of vehicles going through the ice on Leech Lake on Friday, Jan. 16. Six people in total were rescued. The sheriff's office received a 911 call for assistance at9:20 p.m. on Steamboat Bay, where a caller reported a vehicle had gone through the ice and four people were attempting to get out. The sheriff's office and the Walker Fire Department responded to the area and located a full-size SUV that had gone through thin ice with just the rear of the vehicle exposed.
